Mercedes Benz, the leading luxury car maker in India has launched its first crossover called Mercedes Benz R Class at the price tag of Rs 58.79 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). As expected, the crossover comes equipped with a 3.5 litre, 3498cc, DOHC, V6 petrol powertrain that is mated with 7G Tronic automatic transmission. The car shares the same features as are present in the Mercedes Benz E Class E 350 and is built on the E-Class platform. The car comes through the completely built unit (CBU) route in India. The Mercedes Benz R Class has front 18 inch and rear 19 inch wheels and has 633 litres of boot space along with 80 litres of fuel tank. It does the 0-100 kmph sprint in just 8.3 seconds and offers a top speed of 230 kmph.

The Mercedes Benz R Class has got a massive engine that is a 3.5 litre, DOHC, 24 valve, V6. The mill is coupled with advanced 7 speed automatic transmission that is regarded as the best performer worldwide. This superlative configuration of the engine delivers a top power of 272 bhp at 6,000 rpm and belts out peak torque of 350 Nm at 2400 rpm.
