The new FZ6R has a unique cylinder head, crankcase, intake and exhaust system which helps to give the motor a new character ideal for commuters and entry-level riders. The rider’s seat can be adjusted in height by nearly an inch, and the low setting works well for shorter riders and women.

Lightweight sportbikes with low-to-mid power, comfortable ergonomics and an entry-level price have been popular in the U.S.A and with the new Yamaha FZ6R, Yamaha can see this trend going forward. Due to the increasing fuel prices, these kind of motorcycles will be demand in the USA.

Available colors are Yamaha Racing Blue, Raven Black with red accents, yellow and black, and white and black, which is aimed directly at the female market segment. And according to Yamaha research, 29 percent of all entry sport riders are women. Retail prices start at $6990 for the Raven black and $7090 for the rest. They will hit dealers come January.
